Teach
your dog to find things
If you have a particularly active dog then one activity they may like to take part in
is ‘find and retrieve’. Basically it involves them sniffing an object of some sorts,
perhaps their favourite toy, and then you tell them to stay whilst you go and hide it.
Once you are ready you release the dog by telling them to ‘find’ the object and once
they are trained they will automatically run, sniff and search out the object.

Pollen
allergies in dogs
Have you noticed that your dog is itchier during the summer months? Do they wheeze and
cough and do they sometimes have nasal discharge? If so then they could well be
suffering from a pollen allergy.

What
is the best way to trim your dogs nails
Sometimes our dog’s nails can become a little too long. We try and wear them out the
best way that we can by taking them on walks and letting them go on harder surfaces,
however it does not always work. This means that we have to trim them ourselves unless
we want to pay somebody else to do it for us and the latter is not always an option for
many people. So, just how do you trim a dog’s nails?

How to
Control Your Dog’s Barking
Ah, the dreaded barking problem. If you’ve taken a stroll down a residential street any
time recently, you’ve likely run into this very issue – a seemingly endless number of
dogs that just won’t stop barking.
-
How
to stop your dog from digging
Digging is one of those things that just never seems to stop. Whatever you do, your dog
finds a way to tear up your newly planted flowers or create a mess of the neighbor’s
yard. So, it’s completely understandable when you reach your wit’s end and start
keeping the pooch inside.

How
to Prevent Dog Aggression with Other Dogs
There is something very disappointing when you find out your dog is incapable of
spending time with other dogs due to a habit of aggression. This aggression should
never be permitted and even if you generally keep your dog away from others, should be
stamped out quickly if possible.

9 Dog Aggression
Tips
An aggressive dog is a scary dog and in almost any household, having one just won’t do.
You cannot allow your dog to control your home when you should be the active pack
leader. So, as soon as you see the signs of aggressive behaviour, use some of the
following tips to cut it off immediately.
-
Stop Dogs
Eating Dog Poop
To start with, you should understand why your furry friend is doing this in the first
place. It’s a good idea to take your dog to the vet if this is a common, persistent
behaviour as it is often a sign of a deficiency in their diet.
-
Stop
your dog from jumping on people
They’re excited, they’re happy to see new people, and they’ve got a huge vertical leap.
Dogs are made to jump and when they want to do it, it can seem next to impossible to
stop them from getting up in the faces of your friends and family.
-
What you need to know about territorial urination
If your dog is one of many which make you suffer with their territorial urination
problems, you will understand just how frustrating it can be! Nothing ever stays clean,
you daren’t walk around with no shoes or socks on and the house constantly smells of
dog urine no matter how much you clean.
-
How
to Stop Your Dog Pulling on the Leash
Tell me if this sounds familiar. You get home from work, greet your furry friend and
then go to snag the leash. The dog immediately starts running in circles and jumping up
and down. You get them outside and they practically pull your arm out of its socket on
a b-line to whatever it is they smell.
-
When to Start Obedience Training with Your Puppy
You’ve just picked up your new puppy, gotten him home and setup his little play pen.
You’re watching him roll around on the padding you got to protect your carpet and nip
at your fingers. But, now you’re wondering when the training should start and how
intensive it should be.
-
When
to call in a dog whisperer
It may seem a little silly to many dog owners, but there are times when a dog whisperer
may be able to help you. When all of your training attempts have failed and you are at
a loss of what to do next, a dog whisperer may be able to tell you exactly what is
wrong.
